MILAN 2025: Annual Donor Appreciation Dinner | Nov 15, 2025
The Bay Area chapter of the Association for India's Development (AID) is thrilled to invite you to Milan 2025, our annual fundraiser gala on Saturday, Nov 15, 2025. We are proud to present Ms. Nimitta Bhatt and Dr. Ashvin Patel – founders of the Trust for Reaching the Unreached (TRU) – along with Somnath Mukherji, AID Development Coordinator, as featured speakers at the event.
RSVP today to join us in this meaningful journey and learn more about community health program with the tribal communities of India.
TRU is a pioneer in rural community health interventions in India and has a remarkable health program among the tribal communities in the state of Gujarat. For over 30 years, TRU has implemented a health program to provide essential, accessible, and affordable health services to tribal communities in various ways. Ms. Nimitta Bhatt and Dr. Ashvin Patel, as founders of TRU, have built on their decades of experience in public health to pioneer a unique community-based approach to addressing mental health challenges. TRU works with local communities, villages, schools, and government health workers to reduce stigma associated with mental health and provide psychiatric and psychological care for the patients. This program has proved to be so successful that it has seen widespread adoption by states and other NGOs.
We are also delighted to have performances by Dikshaa Dance Academy, whose dancers will grace the evening with vibrant, culturally-rooted choreography, celebrating heritage and community through movement.
At last year's Milan (AID Bay Area annual fundraiser), we introduced "Recipes of Resilience" - a new way to connect with our grassroots partners, through the food they eat in their daily lives and celebrations. Encouraged by the response from all of you, we are thrilled to bring it back this year! Recipes of Resilience is more than just a culinary experience - it's a journey into the stories, struggles, and triumphs of the communities we work with. You can explore last year's recipes here: Recipes from Grassroots Communities.
