Supporting India's small farmers

In the last 10 years, 150,000 farmers committed suicide in India. In the same period, Indian farmers increased food production 1.5 times. They have delivered what the nation needs. But have we delivered what they need to survive? Let us honor the 71st Independence Day by investing in our farmers. You can help support
  • Families where a farmer has committed suicide
  • Farmers facing drought and other natural calamities
  • Transition to sustainable farming without toxic chemicals
  • Programs for enhancing income and reducing debt
  • Efforts to ensure government support reaches farmers
INVEST IN OUR FARMERS
AID Bay Area supports small and marginal farmers in India in a variety of ways. Our partners in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana ensure that tenant farmers get access to bank credit removing them from clutches of private moneylenders. They ensure continued education and livelihoods for families of farmers who have ended their lives and engage in advocacy with the government to ensure fair policies for the farmers in India.
