TM Krishna is an Indian Carnatic vocalist, writer, activist and author. He is known not only as a stellar musician, but also as a voice of reason, raising important questions about art and how it relates to caste, class, religion and gender. Some of his popular books include Sebastian And Sons: A Brief History of Mridangam Makers and Reshaping Art. He has also been part of collaborations to highlight important environmental issues, such as the Chennai Poromboke Paadal with Nityanand Jayaraman. In 2016, Krishna received the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award for using his powerful art to address and heal social divisions.

Nityanand Jayaraman is a journalist & social activist who has, for years, been involved in environmental protection and social welfare causes, and is the 2018 winner of the Franco-German Prize for Human Rights and the Rule of Law. He is based out of Chennai and focuses on issues related to environmental justice, climate change, and citizen action to protect the environment in and around Tamil Nadu. He believes India can lead the world in showing the alternative, ecologically sound way to ensure the well-being of all humankind.

Aravinda Pillalamarri has been associated with AID since 1995 and currently serves as a Development Coordinator. Learning from grassroots movements addressing important issues such as environmental justice, livelihoods, education, nutrition and health rights, she helped AID build its three-pronged strategy of sangharsh, nirman and seva, or struggle, construction and service. Through her experiences and relationships with AID partners, she helps volunteers and supporters hear the voices of people driving social change while working towards lasting, just solutions for every person to live a dignified life.
